Lowering the volume with the side buttons only reduces the volume somewhat but doesn't turn it off. What else can I try? Posted on Apr 25, AM. One solution that was provided by an Apple tech in a post on another website was to do a soft reset by pushing the power butter and the main button on the front at the same time until the Apple logo appeared.

I tried this and the dial tone volume was lowered to the same level as on my wife's phone. Posted on Oct 22, PM. Page content loaded. Apr 25, AM in response to neoflyer In response to neoflyer. What was Apple thinking? Apr 26, AM. Apr 26, AM in response to neoflyer In response to neoflyer. They were probably thinking that a nice easy to find switch would be easier than digging through settings on those rare occasions that this was necessary.

But I'm just guessing. I'd rather never have the tones. Don't see a need for them. But if I flip the switch off then forget to flip it on after dialing I risk missing calls. Wish Apple would give a better option.

Playback devices, make sure the standard computer audio device is setup computer speakers as the Default sound playback, but the headset device should be setup as the Default Communication Device.

It turns out there is a way to silence the audio sound effects when dialing phone numbers on an iPhone, read on to learn how to accomplish the task. While those numerical audio signals were necessary in the pre-cell phone era, nowadays the sound effects are no longer needed to simply dial a number successfully, but the sound effects persist even on modern smart phones like an iPhone. There are a few different ways to mute the playing of dialing sound effects when entering a phone number onto iPhone.

The first approach to silencing the iPhone dialing sound effects is to simply mute the iPhone. This is easy, because all iPhone devices have a hardware mute switch on the side of each model, next to the volume buttons. Simply look at the side of the iPhone and find the little Mute switch and activate it.

Flip it on, so that you can see a little red indicator, when that red indicator in the mute switch is visible it means the Mute button is active and the iPhone is muted for all sounds, including the muting of the dialing sounds. The mute button is all encompassing on iPhone, which is why it works to turn off the dialing sounds too, as long as that mute switch is enabled.

If you use headphones, or have any plugged into the iPhone, then dialing in the Phone app will not make external sounds through the iPhone speakers, instead they will play the dial sounds through the headphones, earbuds, or Airpods. You can also plug in a set of headphones to the iPhone and not even use them simply to accomplish the silencing of the dialing sounds.

As mentioned earlier, there is no setting for disabling or turning off the dial sound effects on iPhone. Just use what works for you.

Just my opinion. I agree with Sherry. With Dialpad, your ability to make a business call is never limited by where you are. As long as you have an internet connection, Dialpad puts the world at your fingertips. Dialpad provides enterprises with unlimited voice calling to anywhere in the United States and Canada, with competitive international long distance rates. First, your voice is transformed from an analog signal into a digital one. That digital signal is then transmitted over the internet to the person receiving it.

If the recipient is using a cellular network or traditional landline, that signal must then pass through a gateway that converts it into a signal the device is capable of accepting. This all happens at indiscernible speeds. So the quality and performance of the call remains un-compromised. The end result is the freedom to make calls from anywhere without the restraint of traditional phone systems. The traditional office worker carries typical nine-to-five hours, moving from the desk to meeting rooms and back again.
